The Skin Gods by Richard Montanari
In Philadelphia two detectives, Kevin Byrne and Jessica Balzano, investigate a series of gruesome murders.
The Skin Gods is a well written and well-paced novel. Carrying on from his first book with these detectives as the main leads, The Rosary Girls, character development is excellent without detracting from the story itself. The story takes unexpected twists and turns and it was difficult to predict the ending.
I would recommend this book to readers who like crime thrillers and whodunits. I would also suggest checking out Richard Montanari’s sequels featuring these two detectives; Merciless: A Novel of Suspense and Badlands: A Novel of Suspense.
