Jane Eyre is one of the most famous novels from the Brontë sisters. A tale of romance and intrigue, Jane joins the handsome Mr Rochester’s household.

This novel has all the elements of a mystery: a charismatic hero with a tragic past, a naïve heroine, and secrets that conspire against any chance of a happy ending.

Well written, if slightly old-fashioned, this is a timeless story of forbidden love that I thoroughly enjoyed reading again. I got lost in the grandiose settings and old fashioned proprietary of the main characters. It certainly made a change from the novels of today. I’m sure Jane Eyre won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I would recommend giving it a chance.
