A poem on the loss of a dear pet after twenty years.

It was all tears in the
Veterinarian office;
A tight compacted box
Of tissues he offers
Whilst I stand here as
My baby suffers.
Crying into the tissue
I take offence easily;
I am upset this
Lovely little creature
Is not dead yet!
Petting him until his
Body and mind is still I
Left this cat to rest.
