My Taste for Rain

The perception of rain can change over time.

My taste for rain
has changed.
Age has left a mark on
my palette.
The little droplets that once
irked my being
now fuel it with
life.

On dark days,
they roll down my cheeks
like tears.
On brighter days they drip
onto my palms and cleanse
my skin
of old burdens.

My taste for rain
has changed.
It now brings me
comfort,
rather than a reminder
of harder times.
