in the still of the night
the earth grieves

shoots tinted seeds
(the best deception)

marinating this putrid sense
of perpetual loss
of being lost

ribbons of filtered light
meet fibrous tangled strands

the filleted taint
of fevered echoes
of shrivelled shrinking stars

the earth grieves
in the still of the night
