How It Is
A piece that questions why people suffer.
That’s just how it is,
Being left in the lurch.
Rattling the few pennies you have left in a jar.
Microwave meals, elastic tape to repair old furniture.
Wear and tear.
That’s just how it is,
The job rejection emails you receive, those politicians making false promises.
Promises that fill us with hope to revert us from feeling hopeless.
That’s just how it is.
Crying kids with worrying futures, waiting lists for doctor’s appointments…
the forgotten elderly.
That’s just how it is
That’s just how it is
And you can’t understand why we’re miserable?
