The first ever Ramsgate Seadog Festival is taking place on Saturday 22nd July 2017 and Thanet Writers are proud to be hosting Seaside Stories as part of the events schedule.

Ramsgate Seadog, part of the Ramsgate Festival, is an event to change people’s perspectives of our local fishermen and the industry in general. Held in and around the Sailor’s Church in Ramsgate Harbour Marina, the Ramsgate Seadog Festival features events throughout the day including both a poetry workshop and reading hosted by Sarah Tait and a talk on nautical fashion by Amber Butchart.

“We are very excited to be supporting and involved with such a dynamic and interesting local festival in its very first year.”

Hannah Fairbairn, Thanet Writers CIC Director

Thanet Writers Seaside Stories will be held from midday until 4pm on Saturday 22nd July 2017 and will feature storytelling games, writing prompts, and flash fiction exercises. There will also be story prompts to help children aged 4 to 10 get interested in telling or writing creative stories. It will be an opportunity to meet local writers, talk to anyone interested in writing, and to share knowledge of local groups and communities. Thanet Writers Seaside Stories is a free event being held outside the Sailor’s Church, overlooking the Ramsgate Harbour Marina, and anyone is welcome to drop by and get involved or just discover some tales of the sea.

For more information about the Seadog Festival please visit the event page on Facebook.

Thanet Writers is a community for writers, authors, and poets, offering writing advice and support, stories and poetry, reviews and news.
