Jobs and Opportunities with Thanet Writers

Since its formation in 2015, Thanet Writers has always aimed to support those linked to Thanet. By 2018 Thanet Writers had become a Community Interest Company (CIC Number: 10690420) and thanks to being supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England was able to pay writers for their work, including purchasing print rights to previously published content. This funding also allowed Thanet Writers to hire a team of Editors, each of which bring a different specialism and skill-set.

Due to continued expansion, Thanet Writers will have various staffing opportunities available on occasions, either through new positions being created, or vacancies arising within existing roles. As Thanet Writers is dedicated to supporting writers in and with a connection to Thanet, as well as the community of Thanet as a whole, these will be made available on the Thanet Writers Jobs and Opportunities page.

Whilst there will not always be opportunities, those that are active will be listed on the Jobs and Opportunities page. Ideally Thanet Writers will only advertise for paid roles, however on occasion some roles may begin as voluntary. Thanet Writers aims to pay all staff, so any volunteering positions will be explicitly stated as voluntary and will be anticipated to later transition to a paid role. Paid opportunities will most likely be on a self-employed contractual basis due to the nature of the work, although this will always be mentioned in the advertisement.

The amount paid will be based entirely upon the role and the time required, as Thanet Writers is committed to Equality. There are and will not ever be any differences in pay rate based upon gender, age, disability, race, or any other discriminating factor.
