Submit to Thanet Writers
thanetwriters.com is looking for new and exciting content from writers with a connection to Thanet, and the site is open to submissions for Short Stories, Poetry, Book Reviews, and Essays (Literary Articles, Writing Advice and How-To Guides).
Unfortunately we are only able to accept submissions from writers with a legitimate link to Thanet. All submissions are subject to the approval of the Editorial Team. To access the Submission Form at the bottom of this page you must be logged in and be Verified. A guide to using thanetwriters.com is available here.
If you are unsuccessful please do not be disheartened, but continue to submit your work elsewhere. Reasons for rejection may be provided upon request, as long as the submission meets all the Terms and Conditions for Submission of Content, as set out below. If the submission fails to meet these terms then unfortunately no other reasons will be provided.
Please take a moment to read the Terms and Conditions for Submission of Content to ensure your submission meets the specified criteria. If you have any questions please refer to our Submissions FAQ.
Terms and Conditions for Submission of Content
For the benefit of these Terms, “author” hereby refers to the individual who submits content claiming it to be their own.
Submissions will only be considered through the Submission Form, with all required fields completed correctly.
Multiple submissions are accepted, under the condition that each piece of content is submitted separately through the Submission Form.
Previously published content is accepted.
All content remains the copyright of the author or current copyright holder, which must be specified upon submission. If it is found by Thanet Writers that a copyright notice is incorrect or wrongly attributed, responsibility for the reproduction of said content will be entirely with the author, with Thanet Writers not being held liable.
Simultaneous submissions are accepted.
By submitting content the author agrees, should said content be accepted for publication, to allow Thanet Writers a non-exclusive licence to publish said content digitally only for a minimum of twelve (12) months, until such a time after that the author requests the withdrawal of publication. This does not affect the right of the author to publish said content elsewhere, either digitally or in print. Requests for withdrawal of publication can be made up until acceptance for publication is sent via email, or from twelve (12) months after the date of publication.
By submitting content the author declares there is no agreement, embargo, or other such limitations currently imposed upon said content from a current or previous publisher, or any other company or organisation. If it is found by Thanet Writers that content has been published in breach of an existing agreement, responsibility for the reproduction of said content will be entirely with the author, with Thanet Writers not being held liable.
By submitting content the author declares that said content is entirely his/her own work and is not plagiarised or copied from another author’s content. If it is found by Thanet Writers that content has been plagiarised or copied, responsibility for the reproduction of said content will be entirely with the author, with Thanet Writers not being held liable.
Content will be eligible for consideration based upon meeting the following criteria:
- The author has a suitable connection to Thanet, at the discretion of the Editorial Team;
- The content is between 50 and 5,000 words;
- There are no grammar or spelling mistakes in the Submission of Content Form;
- The content has educational and/or artistic merit, at the discretion of the Editorial Team;
- The author agrees to the Terms and Conditions for Submission of Content, as laid out on this page.
